I see a surgeon living on an estate in the Cotswolds is spending $600,000 on a luxury kennel for her two great danes. I know some people will say it's her money, but for that price they would need to be better than merely great, they would have to be bloody superb! and after a certain level of wealth I think it begins to look like accumulating just so nobody else can have it...

I believe their are children starving and shivering somewhere who could be helped out for a much smaller cost, and I really regret I don't have a Phantom skull ring to leave an imprint on this lady's jaw. I have nothing against dogs - they can't help it that they aren't cats. But I am a bit my-species-centric.

Now that's the difference between cats and dogs. Get a plush doggy bed and the canine will head right to it. Get a plush cat bed, and the cat will sleep anywhere else but there. Fancy cat toys? ha ha. Paper bags, boxes, leaves that fall off your shoes when you walk into the house, pieces of dryer lint ....

I bought my cats a really cool cat bed/scractching post thing last week. Where are they sleeping? In the box friday nights curry was delivered in! Little buggers!

There is the consolation that when she's spent a small fortune on them, the dogs will go and roll in the dirt and insist on sleeping in the garage or chicken coop or somewhere.

Yep, grab all the money before someone else does then spend it ostentatiously. If she's remembered, it will be as a selfish crazy. If she'd put it towards a kid's shelter or medical research ... but I suppose she doesn't care for opinions of Little People From The Village.

Or maybe in the middle of her bed ... after rolling in something a little more pungent than dirt.

Kitty, you asked to the dogs know the difference between the 600,000 house and the normal style. I know that we all know the answer to that but some strange people really seem to think that animals have human type emotions and needs.
I thinks they are really much smarter than that.

That is pretty excessive, but then again, it's her money, she can waste it how she wants I guess. The money will be recycled anyway I'm sure.
