I'm just going to post the articles and the links for you guys... I honestly don't think I need to add an opinion to it... the whole thing really does speak for itself!

You know, I actually agree with the second link. I'm sick of having to refer to myself as British, or have my country listed on forms as the UK. I'm English, born in England and live in England. England is part of the UK and one of the British Isles yet it is never mentioned. Why?
Just smile, nothing else annoys them as much.

But did you notice in the second one how they said only Welsh, Irish and the Scottish don't like the umbrella term?.... I'm with you, I hate being called British too... I always refer to myself as English.

Yes, I noticed that too. I was wondering if that could have to do with the Welsh, Irish and Scottish having had their own unique languages once upon a time and thus distinct cultures?
I do not know that is why I'm asking you British, Brits, Britons, (Great Britons?), United Kingdomians, Welsh, Irish, Scots and oh, almost forgot.. English.

We had our own unique language too at one time.... English Now it's been bastardised by other countries LOL

We got rid of the "u" (as in "colour/color", for example) and adopted the "z" instead, I guess.
