We keep hearing in Britain about how there's a severe housing shortage and those who can't afford to buy are struggling to be homed by the various housing associations, so I'm sure those of you who don't live in the UK can imagine how it feels when you find out that while UK people are suffering from this lack of housing, the government are using taxpayers money to give failed asylum seekers who agree to voluntary leave the UK £6,000 to help them build a new house or make repairs to their existing home back in their homeland.

It makes me laugh how our government is quick to dish out money to people from other countries, yet gods forbid if any of the people living in the UK need a helping hand. Actually it doesn't make me laugh, it makes me sick.

It gives me a warm feeling to know that even if I was far from home, I would see familiar stupidity at a political level.

Oh, but heaven forbid we're labelled as uncompassionate racists...

Add to it that failed asylum seekers are often given handouts so then can start businesses in their home nations. I once read of a woman who was given £3000 to start a shoe shop in the country she came from. It worries me that in these times of financial difficulties for so many we seem to be able to squander money in this way.

What more would you expect from a leader which nobody really likes? The thing is, the government always has to pander to the "luvvy duvvy" types who'd happily give other people's money away (they're either very well off or live off benefits, rarely in between). They're also usually the same people who liberally apply rights to people who simply do not deserve any.
