Re: Churches open doors for 'guests'
<shudders>
Having been in churches which front the congregation with a gospelly rock band of smiling kids with up-to-the-minute seventies haircuts (to which the congregation still lifts their hands heavenwards) I can appreciate the horror.
In the context of that, one of the church services which most amused me (and there have been many) was one in which a young lad stood up to "give testimony" (i.e. to submit anecdotal evidence which would have been thrown out of court).
Kid; "I was at a rock concert, and I knew it was satanic because all the words were repetitive!"
Minister; "Let's praise the Lord for that testimony!"
Congregations sings; "Praise the Lord! Hallelujah! Praise the Lord! Hallelujah! Praise the Lord! Hallelujah! Praise the Lord! Hallelujah! Praise the Lord! Hallelujah ..."
