Okaay..well, I'm pretty much with Hangman on this one. Our species
needed to give responsibility over to a higher being when we were in our infancy, but now we know more about our planet and the universe it exists in, we've long since outgrown the need.
How the whole god myth was so all emcompassing in the first place, I really don't understand, when there were races such as the Egyptians and the Mayans who seem to have had an understanding of the universe, (unless they really did have time-travelling or space travelling visitors but that's another debate!) or more home grown worshippers of Mother Earth and Pagan religions who actually worshipped the reality of life - whatever made the crops grow, seasons change and night turning into day!
This God entity seemed to get a lot of credit for smiting people but not much useful stuff!
And, for goodness sake, evolution anyone?
